| GSP

Glycated serum proteins (GSP) are proteins within the body that have undergone glycation and circulate in the blood. The large majority (90%) of GSP consists of glycated albumin (GA), a globular protein in plasma whose main purpose is to regulate the oncotic pressure of the blood. Due to the shorter half-life of serum proteins, compared to red blood cells, GSP levels show glycemic control over a period of 2 to 3 weeks.GSP is reported to be associated with the risk of atherosclerosis, microvascular complications of diabetes, and cardiovascular disease-related outcomes. Assessments of GSP do not require sampled individuals to be fasting and can be performed using frozen samples.

| Recovery

The recovery of Rat GSP spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Rat GSP and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
